| 内容記述 | This study aims to clarify the parents’ thoughts and approaches regarding the social participation of their early adolescent children with Down syndrome (DS), and examined how community nurses should support them in the future. For these purposes, semi-structured interviews were conducted with five parents and contents were analyzed using qualitative and descriptive research method. Overall, the parents’ responses and approaches could be grouped into the following five categories: 1) lifestyle acquisition and building a healthy body; 2) building interpersonal relationships for support; 3) respecting individuality; 4) realizing a normal life; and 5) connection between parents. In specific terms, the parents worked on “lifestyle acquisition and building a healthy body” and “building interpersonal relationships or support” so that their children could effectively adapt to social groups in their everyday lives. The parents also focused on “respecting individuality” and “realizing a normal life” in every possible situation. However, because the parental counseling support system for resolving parents’ anxieties/worries was somewhat insufficient, the “connection between parents” was indispensable for supporting the children’s social participation. This finding indicates that when promoting the social participation of children with DS, it is necessary to enhance the support system for parents in parallel with the support for the children. |

| 内容記述 | 本研究は、青年前期にあるダウン症（以下、DS）児の社会参加に対し親にはどのような思いや取り組みがあるのかを明らかにし、今後、障害児・者の自立支援を担う看護職者の支援の在り方を検討することを目的に、5名の親を対象に半構造化面接を実施し、質的記述的に分析を行った。 親は、DS 児が社会集団に適応できるよう【生活習慣の獲得と健康な体づくり】や【受援のための対人関係づくり】に取り組んでいた。あらゆる場面で【個性を尊重】し、【ノーマルな生活の実現】を願う親の思いがあった。しかし、親の相談支援体制は十分とはいえず【親同士のつながり】が子どもの社会参加を支えるために必要不可欠であった。このことから、障害児・者の社会参加の促進においては子どもへの支援と並行し、親への支援体制も充実させていく必要性が示唆された。 |
