| 内容記述 | In this study I made researches into the field of "musical intervals "in Boethius' work "De institutione musica". Particularly I made researches into the names and the constructions of musical intervals, the various numerical demonstrations of musical intervals, the methods of calculation of musical intervals based on the theory of number in the Medieval Europe, and so on. Especially we have found out the Medieval singularities in the methods of calculation of musical intervals and the numerical demonstrations of musical intervals. And we have taken a great interest in the contents. By elucidating them minutely, we can have good understanding how indispensable the studies on the theory of number had been in the musical studies in the Medieval. And this shows that musica had occupied a principal position in quadrvium as an arithmetical subject of study. The contents of my study are as follows. 1. Names of musical intervals and methods of calculation of musical intervals 2. Constructions of musical intervals 3. Methods of calculation of various minute musical intervals 4. Numerical demonstrations of various musical intervals These studies on Boethius will give much suggestions to the ideal way of the future musical studies and the musical education in Japan. |
