| 内容記述 | In this study, I made researches into the contents of (1) complete system of tones, (2) tetrachord and (3) genera in Boethius' work "De insti tutione musica" from the standpoint of musical history. (1) complete system of tones : His detailed descriptions of their historical development strongly suggest how ancient Greek music has developed. (2) tetrachord: Each meaning of names of five kinds of tetrachord is described. Two ways to combine each tetrachord --coniunctio and disiunctio-- are described. And their features are described. (3) genera : It is numerically elucidated that the ratio betweeen each tone delicately differs by genera. Their numerical ways are very unique in medieval Europe. And it also shows that music has occupied a very important position in Quadrivium as numerical subjects in medieval Europe. By the elucidations of these contents it will be shown how certainly Boethius has transmitted ancient Greek musical theory to medieval Europe. And it will be shown how much he has had an effect on medieval musical theory. |
