内容記述 In Japan, biomass power generation is being promoted for effective biomass utilization, and there is a big problem that a large amount of biomass combustion ash is discharged to dispose at landfill as industrial wastes. On the other hand, environmental problems caused by As in aquatic systems occur all over the world, including Japan.
In this study, we attempted to synthesize Fe-type layered double hydroxide (Fe-LDH) from biomass combustion ash for As removal. In this experiment, the combustion ash was added to HCl to dissolve divalent cations, Ca and Mg, in the ash, and then filtrated. Iron chloride hexahydrate (FeCl3·6H2O) was added to the filtrate to prepare acidic liquid mixture with a molar ratio of (Ca+Mg)/Fe=2, and the mixture was added to 0.3 M NaCl solution to stirr to synthesize LDH at 40℃ for 6h with keeping pH 12.5. Also, the As removal ability of the product was investigated. The product including LDH with the removal of As(3) and As(V) can be prepared from biomass combustion ash, and the removal percentage of As(3) using the product is higher than that of As(5).
