内容記述 | To effectively utilize waste glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP), we previously proposed a process that produces porous glass fiber-reinforced ceramics by mixing crushed GFRP with clay before firing. In this study, we aimed at developing water-permeable paving blocks that could prevent the inundation of roads caused by sudden heavy rain in urban areas by focusing on recent environmental issues. This is achieved by exploiting properties such as the porous structure and high strength of ceramics made by mixing clay and crushed waste GFRP before firing.GFRPs containing 40–60% glass fiber were used as raw materials for producing porous glass fiber-reinforced ceramics.Various specimens were made by changing the mixing ratio of clay and crushed GFRP, the particle size of GFRP, and the firing temperature. Then, permeability and bending strength tests were carried out on the samples. The results indicated that ceramics which satisfied both the permeability and strength standards required for water-permeable paving blocks could be produced. | |||||
