内容記述 In 2012, a beam-down solar concentrator was installed at the University of Miyazaki. This study aimed to develop a receiver for the installed beam-down solar concentrator and to evaluate the possibility of applying it for electricity generation. A heating medium, such as steam, molten salt, or air, previously heated by a solar receiver was sent to a generation system, such as steam turbines, or to a heat storage system. The receiver developed in this study was irradiated by concentrated sunlight to warm up the heat storage materials directly. Moreover, the designed receiver is also effective as a heat storage system. Experiments were carried out using the beam-down solar concentrator with the Compound Parabolic Concentrator (CPC) and the particle receiver. From the results it can be observed that the maximum temperature reached was 1070°C. Furthermore, the efficiency of the receiver can be improved reducing convective and radiative heat losses.
