内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 The main purpose of this paper is to present an adaptive queuing technique to manage an effective operation of two elevators. The elevator system presented in this work was emulated from the current two elevators located in the classroom building 4 at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. Originally, they operate in a synchronize mode. The elevator model is built for testing the designed algorithm before being used in the real situation. The proposed scheme is aimed at reducing the waiting time of the passengers by using the adaptive queuing technique. During the rush hours, the control operation can be switched from a basic operating mode to an adaptive queuing mode. The number of passengers in each elevator can be detected by using weight sensors and the counter modules are used for detecting the passengers that are waiting for the elevators. The system uses a programmable logic controller (PLC) for controlling the elevator operations and all input/output devices. The testing results show that the elevator model can work properly under the designed operation and the average waiting time in adaptive priority queuing mode is 40.2 seconds compared to 60.2 seconds in the basic operating mode. The average operating time in adaptive queuing mode is 458.67 seconds compared to 385.33 seconds in the basic mode.
