内容記述 | This paper presents a method to estimate the seismic stresses in buried pipes induced by relative movement between the containment building and the soil. The analysis assumes that the building is a rigid body with a cylindrical shape and embedded in a linearly viscoelastic surface layer and the pipe penetrating the building wall is a straight slender beam on elastic foundation. The characteristics of the stress are illustrated by computations for a series of idealized containment-pipe systems embedded in various soils and having different embedment depth. A building slightly embedded in a relatively soft soil is found to be a case for which the level of stress in buried pipes due to differential movement is quite high. It is also found that the design details such as the backfill soil surrounding the pipes and the condition of the entry point to the containment wall is important to reduce the level of stress. | |||||
