| 内容記述 | Performance tested Japanese Black bulls were ultrasonically scanned to predict on their fat thickness (FT), M. long. thoracis area (MLTA) and marbling score at two stages, i.e. 20 and 40 months of age. The possibility to predict on these carcass trait estimates 40 months of age by using multiple regression equations which adopted carcass estimates and body measurements obtained 20 months of age. Relationships between ultrasonic estimates of carcass traits of bulls of 40 months of age and carcass measurements of fattening progeny steers were studied. The mean increase of ultrasonic estimates during twenty months after 20 months old were -0.4~-0.2mm (the smaller growth rate group : A group) or 2.6~2.7mm (the larger growth rate group : B group) for FT, 8.5cm^2 (A group) or 12.5~13,2cm^2 (B group) for MLTA and 0.7~1.0 (A group) or 1.5~2.0 (B group) for MA, respectively. By using multiple regression equations the rations of contribution for predicting carcass traits estimates of bulls on 40 months old were 75.9~87.4% (A group) or 70.6~84.2% (B group) for FT, 88.5~91.1% (A group) or 67.2~75.1% (B group) for MLTA and 912~95.2% (A group) or 65.2~71.4% (B group) for MA, respectively. Rank and simple correlation coefficients between carcass trait estimates of bulls on 40 months old and carcass trait measurements of progeny steers after fattening were -0.229~0.176, and all of these were not significant. |
