| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to clarify the functions and the structure of ICU nursing. Participant observation at ICU nursing and the interviews with nursing individuals were analyzed by Grounded Theory Approach. Consequently, six functions were extracted : Function A "survrval ability support" Function B "independence support" Functron C "family support" Function D "individuality support" Function E "life support" and F "nursing base build-up". A "survival ability support" B "independence support", C "family support" and D "individuality support" are regarded as 'assistance for higher quality of life and living', and E "life support" as 'life saving assistance'. ICU nursing consists of these two major aiding purposes, and in its structure F "nursing base build-up" has an influence over the qualities of all the other functions. The result of the study shows that ICU nursing, which is conducted with various medical appliances and cutting edge medical expertise, is not only to provide appropriate treatment support but also to support patients with its characteristic functions and structure. |
