| 内容記述 | The Center for Science and Engineering Education, established in 2012 under the Faculty of Engineering, provides several fundamental education programs for engineering students including basic classes with emphasis on the first half of the undergraduate course. The center consists of five sections such as math, physics, chemistry, data science and English, after it was reformed in accordance with the faculty reorganization in 2021. In addition to a mission of the development of students’ basic academic skills to meet the requirements of the faculty diploma policy, remedial education is getting a critical role expected for the center. The English section has done extracurricular programs with taking account of the importance of both development of students’ basic academic skills and remedial education. This study examines achievements and challenges of two extracurricular English programs and shows a future perspective on the English learning system out of the class for engineering students. | |||||
