内容記述 | In order to develop the case-carburized gears with the high load-carrying capacity, the surface durability of the developed Cr-Mo-Si steel, in which the quantity of silicon was increased in the chemical composition, was studied. First, the fatigue tests of the hypoxia vacuum melting case-carburized Cr-Mo-Si steel and Cr-Mo steel were carried out by using a 2-roller-type contact fatigue testing machine. Secondly, the changes of surface temperature, surface failure, surface roughness and hardness in test rollers were examined with the use of a thermocouple, a scanning electron microscope, a surface roughness measuring instrument and a penetrometer. In the Cr-Mo-Si steel test rollers under the rolling-sliding contact condition, the following results are obtained in comparison with the Cr-Mo steel test rollers: (1) It is possible to decrease the size of micro pits. (2) The micro pitting area ratio against contact stress cycles decreases under the medium load condition. (3)The pits and spalls don’t occur under the heavy load condition. (4) The fatigue (spalling) life is improved. (5) The amount of wear on the contact surface is decreased. (6) There is little change of surface hardness under the high temperature. Therefore, it is clear that the developed Cr-Mo-Si steel can be applied to the case-carburized gear materials for high load condition. The main reason is that the surface hardness of the developed Cr-Mo-Si steel is harder than that of the Cr-Mo steel under the same surface temperature. | |||||
