内容記述 | Recently technological problems in machinery demand high torque as well as light weight machine elements. The development of high strength machine elements is necessary to solve the problems. In this research, the purpose is to develop high strength power transmission gear material. First, case-carburized alloy steel (Cr-Mo alloy steel) and case-carburized alloy steels that silicon and nickel were increased in chemical composition (Cr-Mo-Si alloy steel, Cr-Mo-Ni alloy steel respectively) were melted in hypoxia vacuum. The manufacturing process of the test rollers made from Cr-Mo, Cr-Mo-Si and Cr-Mo-Ni alloy steels was hot forging, normalizing, cutting, carburizing, oil quenching, tempering and grinding. Secondly, the hardness distribution of test rollers in various heat patterns was investigated by using a temperature controlled oil bath and a penetrometer. Furthermore, the surface durability of each test roller was investigated by using a 2-roller-type contact fatigue tester and a stereoscopic microscope. Thus, in the Cr-Mo-Si steel test rollers, the following results were obtained in comparison with the Cr-Mo steel (Type Ⅰ) test rollers: (1) The amount of change in surface hardness is lower in the case of heat pattern above the tempering temperature. (2) Spall doesn’t occur under high load conditions. (3) The endurance limit for spalling is improved. In addition, in the Cr-Mo-Ni steel test rollers, the following results were obtained in comparison with the Cr-Mo steel (Type Ⅱ) test rollers. (1) The amount of change in surface hardness is lower in the case of heat pattern above the tempering temperature. (2) The fatigue life for spalling is longer. Consequently, the relation between changed surface hardness by heat pattern and surface durability in the rolling-sliding contact of developed case-carburized alloy steels is clarified. Furthermore, it is found out that Cr-Mo-Si alloy steel can be applied to the gear material in the case of high load conditions. | |||||
