内容記述 | The relation between surface temperature and surface damage in rolling-sliding contact of the hypoxia vacuum melting case-carburized alloy steel was investigated by using a 2-roller-type contact fatigue testing machine. In order to obtain two hardened profiles, the test rollers were case-carburized, hardened and tempered. All test rollers were finished with the cylindrical grinding. The experimental results clarified that the surface temperature in rolling-sliding contact exceeded the tempering temperature of the case-carburized alloy steel under a heavy load condition. Therefore, the following results were obtained. (1) The damage features of the contact surface in the test rollers variously appear. (2) The surface profile and roughness of the test rollers change severely. (3) The diameter of the test rollers increases. (4) The hardened profile of the test rollers changes, and the surface hardness decreases. Consequently, the relation between surface temperature and surface damage of the case-carburized rollers in rolling-sliding contact was clarified, and the influence of surface temperature on surface durability of the case-carburized gears can be estimated. | |||||||
