The findings are as follows: (1) the teacher mostly uses revoicing in order to acknowledge the students\u0027 contributions; (2) revoicing activates the interactions between the teacher and the students as well as among the students; (3) revoicing enhances the students\u0027 sense of security and their willingness to participate in classroom talk; and (4) revoicing allows the teacher to lead a whole class discussion in the desired directions. The paper concludes that by utilizing revoicing, the teacher can avoid a fixed pattern of classroom interactions, which facilitates students\u0027 opportunities to learn not only content knowledge but 内容記述 | This study explores the functions of a teacher's revoicing in a senior high school English class.Based on classroom discourse analysis, the paper discusses the students' utterances and the teacher's revoicing in a 50-minute lesson.
