In a series of classes conducted at the junior high school of the University of Miyazaki, students were asked to exchange their ideas on melodic expression and advice on how to improve their partner's melodic work. The students were also given an opportunity to revise their own work based on the advice. The students' worksheets and the contents of their dialogues were analyzed by KHCorder, a text-mining software. As a result, it became clear that the students developed active metacognitive thinking, such as critically evaluating their works, thinking of concrete strategies for improvement, and making suggestions to others, while using shared
