Brittle fracture behavior for the latewood was recognized from tensile stress-strain curve and fracture surface observation. Moreover, two fracture patterns: principal stress fracture and shear fracture were obvious. Consequently, Weibull analysis on two fracture patterns was conducted to evaluate of reliability and probability approach of brittle latewood.
