試験紙は溶液の pH を確認する簡便なツールであり、小中学校の化学領域における溶液の性質を理解する上においても重要なものである。これらは紙に色素が染み込ませてあるので 1 回限りの利用に止まるが、繰り返し利用できるあるいは溶液に常時入れておける pH 試験剤があれば、より実験における適用範囲が広がることが期待される。本研究ではアントシアニン系色素に着目し、発色団である3',4',7-trihydroxyflavylium chloride(色素 A)を合成し、シリカゲルやゼオライトへの吸着によって、色素の媒体からの流出を抑制した pH 試験剤の合成を行なった。\n 合成した色素 A は水酸基を三つ持つため、pH に対応して複数の色変化を示し、そのpKa は pKa1 = 4.35(7), pKa2 = 7.349(6) と見積もられた。色素 A をシリカゲルに吸着させ、酸・塩基による耐性試験を行うと、徐々に色素の流出と分解が観測された。一方、ゼオライトの一つである水素モルデナイトに吸着させると、色素の流出は抑えられ、塩酸あるいは水酸化ナトリウム水溶液をそれぞれ 30 回反応させても、色変化に違いは見られなかった。\n 以上の結果より、色素 A を水素モルデナイトに吸着させることで流出を抑え、繰り返し利用可能な pH
