A high voltage generator is consists of a high voltage dc source, a pulse-forming network. The test set are consist of the oil tank , three sets of electrodes and adjustable gap distances. The study the influences of electrode configurations and materials over the breakdown voltage of the oil are used in short during time. It was found that the lower the breakdown voltage the larger the electrode surface. The breakdown voltage of the point- sphere electrodes pair is higher than other pairs of electrodes. The breakdown voltage of the stainless steel electrodes pair is higher in comparison high voltage testing.
