Hydropower is a good way of reducing environmental impacts. Low head power plants are expected to be implemented increasingly in the future for economic, geographical and environmental purposes. Axial flow turbines are well suited for these types of applications. The conventional method of turbine performance become costly and time-consuming for several designs testing for design optimization of hydro turbines. The advance in numerical methods for simulation, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has become an effective tool for prediction detailed flow information between the space of the turbine runner to obtain high-efficiency turbine design.
