In this study, to grasp influence of salt pollution deposits and difference of AC/DC voltage application on insulation performance, AC/DC flashover test and observations of corona or dry-band arc discharge and flashover channel were carried out against silicone rubber samples polluted by salt damage. The results showed that salt pollution deposits influenced on discharge processes and formation of flashover channel.
