A wavelength demultiplexer used in WDM communication system is an element that divides a plurality of the signals as originally. By using a resonator called a width change type resonator, it is possible to extract eight signals.In this way, it is very important to numerically investigate the photonic crystal structure. In this research, the pillar type two-dimensional photonic crystal structure is investigated by FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) method. A photonic crystal waveguide with a resonator is modeled and its propagation and separation properties are examined using the FDTD method, and the resonator characteristics and the frequency separation performance are examined.
