In this formulation, the seismic source effect on the layered media is represented in terms of three different externaI load representations; the 1st externaI load is given by using \"the stiffness matrix of elastic haIf space\" and \"the displacements & stress due to seismic waves radiated from seismic source in elastic full space\", the 2nd extemaI load represented by \"the stiffness matrix of elastic half space\" and “the free surface wave motions of half space\" and the 3rd externaI load represented in terms of \"the stiffness matrix of elastic full space\" and \"the displacements only due to seismic waves radiated from seismic source in elastic full space\".
