内容記述 | The prediction of the fundamental period and the damping ratio of a superstructure-pier-foundation system is of importance in seismic design of bridges. An analytical approach, based on a simple linear superstructure of mass and height supported by a rigid embedded foundation with mass and mass moment of inertia and having swaying and rocking motions, has been described. Although the model used in this study is simple, a concept of equivalent complex spring and equivalent input motion of a soil foundation-pier system has been presented. This concept makes it possible to assess the effects of dynamic soil-structure interaction on seismic responses of bridges and, in conjunction with the virtual displacement method, to obtain a simple procedure of predicting the fundamental period and the damping ratio of continuous girder-pier-foundation systems of a bridge. The validity of the proposed method is examined by the dynamic analysis of a multi-degree-of-freedom system. | |||||
