In this study, to grasp influence of pollution deposits and difference of AC voltage application on insulation performance, AC flashover test and observations of corona or dry-band arc discharge and flashover channel were carried out against silicone rubber samples polluted by red clay or carbon. The results showed that pollution deposits influenced on discharge processes and formation of flashover channel.
