The phosphors are characterized using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermoluminescence (TL), photoluminescence (PL) and mechanoluminescence (ML). It was found that TL grow curve shift to the lower temperature side and the trap level becomes shallower with increasing concentration of sulfur. PL Intensity was decreased with increasing concentration of sulfur added to SrAl2O4: Eu, Dy. ML Intensity increased with increasing sulfur content and decreased after taking maximum value.
