焼酎粕を用いて介護・看護の現場で必要とされる排泄物処理材の開発を目的とし,走査電子顕微鏡写真を用いて焼酎粕乾燥粉体の構造確認を行い, 排泄物と焼酎粕乾燥粉体の親和性とを確認するため水様性排泄物の吸水能に関する検証を行ったものである。\n走査電子顕微鏡写真から, 長く伸びる線維状の構造, 全体を纏める糊状の物質, 球形小粒子が観察され, 原料(サツマイモ) 由来の線維, 固化したデンプン・糖類および酵母菌体の構造,小孔による毛細管現象の助長が推察された。\n水様性排泄物の吸水能に関する検証では, 水様性排泄物の水分を吸収し得る乾燥粉体の炭化率は, 全体に占める炭化割合が0～50%の範囲であること, 模擬的泥状便の固形化では粒子形がもたらす団粒吸水が効果的に働き吸水力が増大していると観察され, 泥状便の固形化が確認された。\n以上の結果, 焼酎粕を主成分とする乾燥粉体は,
