｢フレーズ･リーディング｣と｢セマンティック･マッピング｣を組み合わせて, 新たな読解指導を試みた｡  先行研究を行った上で, 対象生徒に長文読解について事前アンケートを行った結果, 長文問題に苦手意識のある生徒が半数を超えていることがわかった｡  指導過程は, (1)導入(2)英文のリスニング(3)チャンクごとに区切りながらリピーティング(4)ペアで音読練習(5)マッピング(6)マッピングをもとに内容を日本語で説明(7)クローズ･テストで内容理解を確認(8)まとめ, という流れで行った｡  この授業実践で, ｢フレーズ･リーディング｣と｢セマンティック･マッピング｣を用いて文の統語構造の理解へとつなげることができた｡  主語と動詞を見つけ, チャンクごとの関係やつながりを線で結んで図式化することで, マッピングを見れば容易に統語構造が明らかとなる｡  また,これをもとに日本語で説明することで, 英文の意味を直読直解することが可能となる｡  対象生徒への事後アンケートでは,
