One of them was associated with aortic atresia with an intact ventricular septum, and the remaining 5 were associated with double outlet right ventricle with an intact ventricular septum. In all the hearts, FO was narrow and shallow continuation of the right atrial cavity between the septum primum and septum secundum. The cranial portion of FO communicated with the left atrial cavity through openings smaller than 6 mm in diameter. In 5 cases, the anomalous communications between the left ventricular cavity and coronary arteries were small and the hearts showed hypoplasia of their left side.
