| 内容記述 | Abstract The design and the experiments of the microscopic devices have attracted the attention of many researchers. The photonic crystal structure is one of the candidates from the practical point of view. In this paper, the lightwave transmission and coupling in the nonlinear photonic crystal waveguides is examined by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The 2nd Mur absorbing boundary condition is applied. The structure to be considered is pillar type directional coupler. The nonlinearity is assumed to be of the Kerr-type, whose relative dielectric constant depends on the light intensity. Since the resonance frequency and the coupling length are changed due to the input light intensity, the optical switching can be observed. We also examined the air hole type directional coupler and showed some numerical results. |
