The effects of linear shear rate on the flow was investigated for rectangular cylinders with different depth-to-height ratios d/h. Here, d is the depth and h is the height of a cylinder. The depth-to-height ratio was varied in the range 0.2-3.0. The base presser increases with increasing shear rate for shorter rectangular cylinders with d/h=0.2-2.0.
