On the other hand, several \ninvestigators have studied two-dimensional patterns generated by automata. The authors are very \ninterested in the problem of synthesizing or learning an automaton or a family of automata from a \ngiven two-dimensional pattern (see [1], [9], [11], for example), but this time deals with the inverse \nproblem.
