The experiments were conducted in a vertical circulating water channel, using a simplified scale model. The flow was visualized using dye tracers and flow patterns were compared for two attitudes for which each other was mirror images. It is found that reattachment occurs at θ = 60° when the front (i.e., light-receiving) surface faces upstream and θ = 130° when the rear surface.
