| 内容記述 | Bangka Island is known to have the geological potential of mineral resources, especially tin, spread in almost all regions. Mining companies have long acted as producer of the commodity. Those involved in mining businesses have some responsibilities for their mining environment, including providing land reclamation. In practice, factors always cause problems for reclamation activities. Problems come from the identification of some physical aspects in mining companies' reclamation activities. This study aims to show the effectiveness of such activities, especially the works of land arrangement and revegetation, to identify the causes influencing the effectiveness of reclamation activities and recommend some realistic alternatives in order to improve the existing works of the activities in the mining companies. The analysis is conducted by assessing and comparing the performance of environmental management in mining companies, especially reclamation activities. Identified physical aspects serve as the indicators of this research and can represent the real condition of reclamation activities. These indicators include the existence of potentially eroded mounds/piles and sedimentation puddles/ponds (for land arrangement aspect) and the limited coverage of cover crops, growth progress of main plants, and survival ratio (for revegetation aspect). The results of reclamation activities in mining companies were not completely finished, indicating that the effectiveness of their work was not completely good either. They should improve their reclamation efforts by using some realistic alternatives, as recommended. |
