It is effective to reduce the amount of communication for sensor networks where power resource is scarce, because sensor nodes consume energy most in communication. We proposed a routing protocol HVGF (Hop-Vector-based Greedy Forwarding) which reduces the amount of communication. In this method, we introduced n base-nodes and assigned n-dimensional “hop-vector\"consisting of number of hops from each base-node. In HVGF, we can forward packets without geographical information of each node. However, in some cases, the information of geographical location of sensor nodes is very important. In this paper, we propose an estimation method of geographical location of each sensor node using the norm of hop-vector. In the proposed method, we introduce some sensor nodes called “landmark nodes\" which are aware of their own geographical location, and estimate the geographical distance between each node and the landmark nodes using the regression analysis of many samples. Using the estimated distance between each node and the landmark nodes, we then estimate the geographical location of each node by “normalized count-up\"mechanism. The simulation results show that the proposed method works well in the various density of network compared to existing
