However the heat loss from the burned gas to the combustion chamber wall surface increased. Therefore it is necessary to know the relations between gas flow and heat transfer coefficient from the burned gas to the combustion chamber wall surface of S.I. engine. A method to measure the heat loss to measure heat flux with the heat flux probe. In this study, the requirements for the material of heat flux probe is investigated. First the difference between the material of probe body and thin film is investigated by simulation whether heat flux measurement would be affect. It is probed that the material of probe body and thin film need to have to use the same thing. Next, the material of probe body is investigated. It is said that the same material as measurement part must be used for the body material of heat flux probe. But in the study using the constant combustion vessel even if the material of the probe body is different from the chamber wall, it is probed that correct heat flux measurement is possible on an unsteady component. Therefore experiments for investigation of the steady component of heat flux using an engine were carried out.
