However, in \nthe highly-networked information society, the necessity for stable supply of high-quality electric \npower is still higher. In such a situation, the accident of electric power apparatus should be \nprevented for the stable supply of electric power. Therefore, the diagnostic techniques for electric \npower apparatus are very important. In some diagnostic techniques for electric power apparatus, \nespecially we have paid our attention to the measurement of partial discharge (PD), which is a \nprecursor of deterioration in the insulation of electric power apparatus. The purpose of this research \nis to clarify the characteristic of PD detection method for electric power apparatus. In this paper, \nthe corona discharge in air or oil was investigated by two methods; the PD pulse charge detection \nmethod and the PD pulse propagation electromagnetic wave detection method.
