内容記述 | Kotagede, a historic residential area in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was destroyed by the May 27, 2006, earthquake. Reconstruction and preservation of heritage building faced many problems in meeting owner satisfaction regarding their traditional joglo roof house. This paper investigates 1) the traditional house owner satisfaction and expectations regarding heritage reconstruction and preservation; and 2) factors that influence to the overall traditional house owner satisfaction. Questionnaires were sent to the traditional house owners in Kotagede and a multiple regressions analysis was conducted to determine the significant factors related to the reconstruction process. That analysis revealed that 1) mutual help, sanitation improvement, cultural values, convenience of space, willingness to keep a house, and willingness to keep its authenticity had high satisfaction and expectations; NGO grants, social assistance, money or material support from the community, safety from disaster, maintenance cost had low satisfaction and expectation; neighborhood admiration, community activity, water supply, electricity, sanitation and air circulation had high satisfaction, but low expectations; and government grants, government rewards, technical support, road access improvements, drainage improvements, had high expectations but low satisfaction; 2) infrastructure improvement, money and age were considered significant; and 3) to improve owners' overall satisfaction, the government should address infrastructure improvement, money and youngsters' belonging to a traditional home. |
