A corona noise is made due to the occurrence of the partial discharge on \nthe insulator. The purpose of this research is to develop a monitoring system of the corona noise. \nTo develop the monitoring system, it is necessary to investigate the relationship between the \ncorona noise level and the polluted condition of the insulator and establish the measurement \ntechnique of the corona noise. But, it is difficult to extract only corona noise with outdoor \nobservation because there are noises such as rain sound, wind noise and the voice of the insect. \nThe noise measurement experiment was done in the transmission tower, and the shape of \nwaves was analyzed. The corona noise could be extracted in the band of 1kHZ - 3 kHZ from the \nanalysis using FFT and wavelet transfer. It has been understood that the number of electrical \ndischarge counts increases in the place where the partial discharge sound has generated. \nHowever, the number of counts increased when the partial discharge sound had not generated \nwith same external noises. It can be distinguished whether it is the partial discharge by \nexamining the interval of 120Hz in number of partial discharges. It is understood to be able to \ndetect the partial discharge sound by using the
