On the river works, preservation of environment is required in addition to \nflood control and water resource. However, environment has the various elements such as water \nquality, ecosystem, landscape etc.. Therefore, image of environment differs in the individual. \nPresently, the index which evaluates river environment is BOD. But, river environment cannot be \nevaluated only with this index. Then, we examined comprehensive appraisal technique. In this \nresearch, 4 rivers located in the southern part of Miyazaki prefecture were dealt with. From both \nsides in physical and chemical environment and ecological environment, river environment was \nmeasured quantitatively. Influence to the river environment with the human activity in the rivers \nwas appraised quantitatively. With appraisal, the radar charts drew the observed results were used. \nThe appraisal result matched the impression when investigating. From this, we concluded that \ncomprehensive appraisal technique was
