| 内容記述 | Abstract The lightwave propagation in the nonlinear photonic crystal waveguide is examined numerically by the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method. The waveguide in this report is the two- dimensional pillar type waveguide and the structure is the triangular array or the square array. It is confirmed that the lightwave can be guided when the permittivity of one row of the dielectric rods is lower than that of the surrounding rods. When one row of the dielectric rods is replaced with the nonlinear media, it is shown that the propagated lightwave is controlled by the intensity of the lightwave itself. When the light intensity is smaller, the lightwave is guided. On the other hand, the lightwave can't be propagated for larger intensity. This property would be used as the optical switching. |
