Computation was performed in a low Reynolds number range with Re < 300 and two difference channel expansion ratios of D/d=3 and 5. Numerical results such as velocity profiles and attachment points were in a good agreement with experiments and existing data. The formation of separation regions and their patterns were varied with both Reynolds number and the expansion ratio. The critical Reynolds number at which asymmetric flow begins decreased with increasing the expansion ratio. The distance of reattachment point increased with the expansion ratio. Computational results of velocity vectors, streamlines, pressure and vortices distributions were presented and discussed to identify the sudden expansion flow phenomena such as flow separation, recirculation, reattachment and the development of asymmetric flow patterns.}, pages = {59--63}, title = {Numerical Study of Laminar Separated Flow in a Symmetric Sudden Expansion Channel}, volume = {52}, year = {2023}, yomi = {フジタ, ケンセイ and シン, ビョンロク} }
