          <datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">With of using cross progeny F2, generation of green-cylindrical fruit type line and white-fusifonn fruit type line in balsam pear, we analyzed the segregation pattern of fruit length, fiuit diameter, skin color and L-ascorbic acid (AsA) content in balsam pear (Momordica charantia L.). The values of fruit length, fruit diameter and AsA content for F2 generalion were continuously distributed, suggesting that the characters were quantitative inherited traits. The white skin color lines segregated in 1/16 ratio in F2 generation. This result indicated that skin color of white or green was determined two qualitative genes.</datacite:description>
          <datacite:description xml:lang="ja" descriptionType="Abstract">ニガウリの緑色長円筒形系統と白色紡錘形系統との交雑系統のF2世代における果長, 果径, 果実色, L-アスコルビン酸含量(AsA) の分離について調査した. F2世代における果長および果径,果実中のAsA含量の頻度分布は連続的であることから, これらは量的形質であることが明らかとなった. また, F2世代において1/16の割合で白色果が出現することから, 白色と緑色の分離に関しては2つの遺伝子が関与していることが推測された.</datacite:description>
