ABSTRACT
Recently, facial caricature has a potential for expansion, because of realizing a new media of man-
machine interface, modeling facial impression, and so on. In this paper, we investigate about the facial
caricature drawing algorithm. Especially, in the case of segmentation of pictures, special attention is
given to the problem of automatically selecting appropriate threshold by approximation of each gray
level histogram, and to the edge detection. The experimental results will show the novelty of our algo-
rithm which is friendly adapted to the user.
