Abstract
Incompressible inner flows in air valves set in agricultural pipelines are numerically analyzed with
ANSYS/FLOTRAN, the FEM fluid analysis software. A pressure difference between intake and
exhaust boundaries of the air valves is 1kPa. Flows are driven with the pressure difference. Heights
of the exhaust boundaries effect on velocity fields, vortex structures and flow rates of the valves. The
best performance among the valves is showed as the height of the exhaust boundary is 14mm.
